After the great success and extensive touring of their debut album Themata, Karnivool are setting about getting a new album together to provide

Guitarist Drew Goddard revealed the bands plans to have a new single travelling the airwaves before the year is out.
"We've started to record but (the album) has been in the works for a long time...we take a long time to write stuff," he said.
Goddard said the band planned to move in a different direction for the new album.
"Its kind of hard to explain in a few little words," Goddard said.
"It's a bit more spontaneous and a lot more of the band acting as a unit.
"All five members have been collectively putting their bits in so it's a lot more organic.
"It still sounds like Karnivool but its frayed off on a tangent...we're really excited."
The new album will follow a theme much like Themata did but before anything is revealed, the band themselves need to get their head around it.
"We've all read a lot and all have ideas," Goddard said.
"Philosophical ideas and crap like that which we're integrating with the music in a visual way."
Goddard said one of the working titles for a song is Does this Riff Make my Dress Look Fat?
"Some (of the working titles) are just utterly ridiculous," he said.
"We're still tossing up for an album title, it's still in the works but we're wanting to go with the one word thing."
The progressive rock band have confirmed one of the titles will be New Day.
Before they enter into too much talk of a new album however, Karnivool are planning to continue a solid tour of Australia and then branch out to overseas venues.
"We went to America at the end of last year which was relatively successful to the point that we could go back and do our own shows and do a release over there," Goddard said.
"Themata was only released last year in Canada, USA and the UK so we're still trying to get back over there and promote it."
Anyone who caught their shows throughout April and May might have caught a few new songs thrown into the mix that are likely to be featured on their album.
For now however Karnivool are holed up in a recording studio in Perth with producer of Themata Forrester Savell.
