Memory Tapes spins his magic at Parklife 2010

Memory Tapes

New-Jersey based Dayve Hawke has spun his music artistry under many names in the past. Weird Tapes and Memory Cassette being just two monikers that have attracted him the attention of the world. This time around he'll be wowing crowds at the 2010 Parklife festivals across Australia with his remixes under the alias of Memory Tapes. The former Hail Society frontman has recently released his first full length album Seek Magic which features the 22-minute instrumental Treeship - downloadable free from his website.

The album marks the first concerted effort the artist has put into putting his name out in the public forum. Well known for being a reclusive act and recording for his own benefit only, the stay-at-home dad had until recently unknowingly been building up a big following online. Having once not even had a mobile phone to his name, Hawke surprised the world recently when he announced two live shows in Britain, then followed this up with a massive world tour - including (lucky for us) shows around Australia under the Parklife Festival.

Catch Dayve Hawke as Memory Tapes when he reaches Australia this month. Parklife 2010 will tour the following venues:

September 25 - Parklands, Gold Coast.
September 26 - Wellington Square, East Perth
October 2 - Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne
October 3 - Kippax Lake, Moore Park, Sydney
October 4 - Botanic Park, Adelaide
