Angus and Julia Stone back to perform Big Day Out 2011

Angus and Julie Stone

Brother and sister duo Angus and Julia Stone have captured the hearts of Australia with their easy nature and infectious music. Fresh from Newport on the Northen Beaches of Sydney, the pair have been heavily involved in music from a very young age. Angus and Julia released their debut EP back in 2006 and by 2007 were platinum selling artists on the release of their debut album A Book Like this.

Their presence has spread from the UK and Europe through to the US, to Japan and back home again. Such has their popularity grown that by the time is came to record their followup album - Down the Way - they had the creative power to do what they liked. As such they took the recording process to the road. The tracks were recorded in various locations around the globe including an old sawmill on the river banks of Fowey, Cornwall, a studio in Brooklyn, a water tank in Coolangatta, their second home (London) and in Queens, New York.

After it's worldwide release in March 2010, the album debuted at number one in Australia and in just two months reached platinum status and became the highest-selling album by an Australian artist in 2010. With sellout tours across the globe this year, Angus and Julia Stone are returning to our shores for the Big Day Out festival 2011.
