The Preytells release debut album - Flood Songs/June Songs
Flood Songs/June Songs is the debut album by Perth indie band The Preytells. The album’s feature songs Lord Hold My Hand, Shout and Sacramento have been played on RTR, FBI, Triple R and Triple J. Fourteen tracks that invade the body and electrify the mind, Flood Songs/June Songs is a blazing journey through the underworld of art-pop where each track differs from the last - one moment a golden pop song, a Californian sunset, the next a flood of shattering glass, blood curdling shrieks and doomsday drumming. The album showcases The Preytells’ clear artistic vision and lands the band in the backyard of The Raveonettes and The Pixies, while smashing ELO into the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
The Preytells hit the scene in 2005 winning the national campus band competition and since then have made appearances at major festivals (Southbound, St Jerome's Laneway Festival), supported the likes of little Barrie (UK), Oh Mercy and End of Fashion and have released 3 EPs, Could I Change Your Mind (2007), Shout/I'm So Sorry(2008) and Sacramento (2008).
The Preytells launch their debut album on September 26 at the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth and will be touring nationally in October 2009.
