Midnight Juggernauts push new single in a special Halloween show

The Midnight JuggernautsThe Midnight Juggernauts will be kicking off their national single launch tour with their first stop being Western Australia.

The Melbourne trio will be playing a show in Perth this Saturday October 31 which will be a special Halloween event. In support of their upcoming album release, the Midnight Juggernauts are pushing new single This New Technology - produced by the band and recorded at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Studios by Christopher Moore (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Liars) and mixed by Andy Baldwin.

Vocalist Vincent Vendetta had a light-hearted view on the writing of the album which he said was done primarily while on aeroplanes or during "late night jams on weird unpredictable dusted-off synths and organs".  The new single is set to make waves on the music scene accompanied by a dream-like, other worldly film clip directed by New Zealand design collective Special Problems.

However the standout track on the album for Vendetta is a song entitled The Great Beyond which he said began as a soft washed-out pop song in its infancy but became an "extended psycho-jam outro which didn’t have a planned ending" during the recording process. "I remember when we were recording down that take live, none of us new how or when to end it, but I think we all met up somewhere together at the end," he said.

Described by Vendetta as an "intersection of light and dark, old and new, earth, time, space and beyond", the new album is set for a tentative release date in 2010. Catch them previewing their new songs at The Capitol, Perth on Saturday night and at Players Bar, Mandurah tonight. The band will be decorating The Capitol with Halloween lights so it'll be one big spooky party.
