Coheed and Cambria head to Metropolis

On the back of their highly successful fourth installment to the concept albums series The Amory Wars, Coheed and Cambria headed to Metropolis Fremantle to rock the crowds of WA.

A mixed crowd attended and varied between tweeny girls, metal heads and those too 'alternative' to miss out on one of the most talked about concepts albums of the year.

For anyone who's been following the tale created by lead singer Claudio Sanchez, the release of the anticipated ending of the series will probably be the next time we see the band perform for us.

However their most recent cavort here was certainly a memorable one particularly at the end where we were blown away by Welcome Home before being subjected to a long and uncomfortable instrumental session where all members of the band bar the drummer eventually walked off stage while the drummer kept up a lengthy solo performance.

The return of all players by the end of the session didnt make enough of an impact to make up for several minutes of boredom, and provided for a bit of an awkward ending.

Despite that, it was a great show full of rockin guitar moves and dark undertones, enough to keep fans happy between albums but hope for a bigger stage next time.

Not the best WA has seen in rock music this year but an entertaining one nonetheless.

Fans of concept albums can look forward to The Mars Volta finally making an appearance in WA later this year (fingers crossed we aren't screwed around again).
