Symbiosis 'rise up' with their debut album

SYMBIOSIS has risen up to the top spot with their latest single Rise Up setting a place for itself in the Top 40 Independent Bands.
The band has gone from strength to strength having supported big name acts like Cat Empire and Resin Dogs recently as well as having several of their tracks featured on television series Underbelly.
An independent band by choice, with their own label Rhythm Drop, Symbiosis has been somewhat of a revolving door with their line-up for the past year, at one point with eight people encompassing the band.
Now with a solid line-up of five, the boys have produced a scorching debut album self-titled Symbiosis which hit the shelves early in March.
No easy band to categorise, Symbiosis dabbles in roots, rock, pop and admits to the occasional splash of sea shanty to mix things up a bit.
Lead singer and rhythm guitar player Micka Etheridge described the funny stories and thoughts of the simple things in life became the basis for most of the songs appearing on the album.
"Stuck in Traffic, which has been played by Triple J a lot, sums up where we're coming from," Micka explained.
"It's got a lot more of a tougher edge with some rock and reggae stuff going on.
"It talks about being stuck in traffic and going in the wrong direction.
"It's a metaphor for we're we are in society at the moment, the last government had a really old fashion way of doing things."
Another track sure to bring some nostalgia and put a smile of people's faces is the last one on the album Messy Town.
"It's like you can go travelling and do all these things but then you come back to your hometown and its all the same and you come back to old girlfriends and everything," Micka said.
"A lot of people could probably relate to that."
Audiences can expect a lot of good vibrations at their upcoming concerts around WA with several tunes to get up and dance to.
Symbiosis is a band to break down the walls between performer and audience so expect to be very involved in the live show.
Their debut album can be found in all music stores.
