British India back for a few shows

Fresh from their second trip to the UK in eight months, British India are set to play a few select shows before they hole up to write and record their third album due for release early next year.

British India will rock The Coolangatta Hotel in Coolangatta on Friday 19 June and The HiFi in Brisbane on Friday 20 June, and celebrate The HiFi’s 12th Birthday in Melbourne on Saturday 27 June.  The band will then play a final show at The Governor Hindmarsh in Adelaide on Saturday 3 July. British India impressed audiences in the UK when they played shows in Brighton at The Great Escape Festival, London at The Borderline, Dublin Castle and Manchester Roadhouse. The band packed out all of their gigs and are receiving strong industry interest from labels in
both London and New York.

British India have proved themselves the indie darlings of the Australian rock scene.  In 2008 they released their second album Thieves, which debuted at number 5 in the National ARIA Album Chart and number 1 in the AIR Chart; and was nominated for ‘Best Independent Release’ in both the 2008 ARIA Awards and 2008 AIR Awards.
